Join United Airlines as a Bilingual Flight Attendant (Language Qualified) specializing in Japanese, based in Los Angeles (LAX). This is a critical 'service and support' role for our trans-Pacific operation, providing essential 'bilingual support' and 'compassionate' care to our guests traveling to and from Japan. About United Airlines: As a premier global carrier, our Los Angeles hub is a key gateway to Asia and the Pacific. We are seeking 'customer-focused' professionals who can provide world-class service and ensure the safety of all passengers. Fluency in Japanese and English is mandatory for this role. Your Role as a Bilingual Flight Attendant: In addition to all standard safety and service duties, you will be a cultural and linguistic 'liaison'. You will make all public announcements in both Japanese and English, provide 'passenger assistance' with customs forms, and help with 'service recovery' for any issues that arise. Your 'team collaboration' skills are essential in a multi-lingual crew. Your Day-to-Day: This role is focused on long-haul international travel. You must be prepared for multi-day trips, extended layovers, and a schedule that includes 'night shift' departures and 'weekend' operations. This 24/7 role requires 100% flexibility for international 'on-call support' (reserve) and assigned schedules (lines). Training & Onboarding: This role requires 2+ years of customer service experience. You will attend our 6.5-week paid training in Houston, which includes a mandatory language proficiency test. 'No experience' as a flight attendant is required, but it is preferred. Career & Compensation: United offers an industry-leading wage, with an estimated annual base from $50,000 to $80,000 (including language pay). We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including profit sharing and outstanding global travel privileges on United and our Star Alliance partners.
